SINGER-songwriter Ed Sheeran is the latest big name to confirm a Thetford Forest summer gig.
The 20-year-old from Woodbridge, Suffolk, has confirmed his only date in East Anglia for 2012 as July 12 as part of Forestry Commission Live Music season.
Sheeran has made a name for himself as a prolific live performer, having started out as a busker.
He said he was looking forward to the opportunity to play in the great outdoors.
“It will be a forest first for me and I can’t wait to get on stage amongst the trees and perform in such a unique place,” he said.
Tickets are £24 and go on sale at 9am today from the Forestry Commission box office on 03000 680400 or online at www.forestry.gov.uk
Sheeran joins fellow Suffolk artists, The Darkness, in announcing a show.
His show will be preceded by performances from Plan B and Will Young, who both appear in June.
Sheeran’s support act will be announced at a later date.
