Serious collision in Santon Downham injures four

Two people were taken to hospital and two more were injured in a serious road traffic collision near Thetford on Saturday.

The incident occured at around 11pm and involved a silver BMW which had collided with a tree on the B1107 at Santon Downham.

A volunteer doctor from the Suffolk Accident Rescue Service (SARS) attended the scene with local ambulance crews and a HART team.

A male in his 20s was assessed at the scene and taken to West Suffolk Hospital by land ambulance with serious internal injuries.

A female in her 20s was also assessed and taken to the same hospital with a head injury.

Two other patients at the scene were believed to have suffered minor injuries.
