Age UK Suffolk volunteers enjoyed some TLC during a special day at the Self Centre as part of National Volunteer Week. The Body Shop in Bury also donated samples of body cream. The Centre also raised funds.

A series of Meet and Treat events took place throughout Suffolk to say thank you to people who volunteer for the organisation.

One was a day of therapies and classes from the Self Centre on Moreton Hall, Bury St Edmunds. The Centre also raised funds for Age Uk Suffolk while The Body Shop donated samples of body creams.

Alex Attolini, recruitment and training coordinator for Age Uk Suffolk said: “Our volunteers are essential to all of our services and some of those services wouldn’t be there without them. Among them are our visiting befrienders who help people who have become isolated through rural isolation or disability and they are there to help and support people and bring a smile into their home during the day.”

Age UK Suffolk runs two day centres at Saxon House on Moreton Hall, Oasis and Links. It also offers advice on benefits, a home service helping people in their own homes, a befriending scheme as well as providing information about the range of lunch clubs available throughout the county.
