A CADET unit has shown it is ready for action at a special ceremony.

Mildenhall and District Sea Cadets achieved pennant status for the second year running at their biennial inspection.

Commander Eric Langley RN, area officer, inspected the cadets. He watched as they paraded an armed guard and evolution demonstrating their ability to tie knots and their navigation techniques.

Angela Shipp, chairman of the group, said: “I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all the staff, parents, members of the committee and honoured guests for their help.”

Forest Heath and Mildenhall Parish Council members were also in attendance.
