Pupils at a Brandon primary school have raised £1,250 for a children’s charity after a cross country challenge.

Glade Primary School’s sponsored cross country race saw pupils and staff running laps of the school grounds, with money raised going to the NSPCC.

Cathy Couchman, from the NSPCC, visited the school last Friday to collect the money from students and Kim Herrington, the school’s physical education and community involvement leader.

Miss Herrington said: “The response has been amazing. Every child wanted to make a difference and completed the course without any hesitation.”
