A GRAMMAR school has been praised for its performance after a visit from inspectors.
Thetford Grammar School was rated a ‘good school with excellent features’ by five inspectors from the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI). The ISI follows Ofsted criteria in assessing independent schools.
A report stated that the school was an ‘inclusive family community’ and described pupils as ‘articulate and confident with a very positive attitude to learning’.
Inspectors found that improvements had been made since the school’s last report, with standards of teaching being rated as consistently good in the Senior School and often outstanding in the Junior School.
Gareth Price, headmaster, said: “Naturally I am very pleased with the positive nature of this report which emphasises our progress over the last few years and in particular the many strengths of our Junior School.”
The school has been advised to develop further systems of monitoring teaching and learning in order to maintain its high standards.
