With the arrival of her great-grandson, a long serving lunchtime supervisor at Barrow Primary School has now served three generations of her family.

For 45 years Alma Wright has worked at the school, which she first attended as a pupil aged 10, and has seen two daughters, four grandchildren and now her great-grandson Myles Iliffe follow in her educational footsteps.

Further proving it’s a family affair, Myles’ mum Natalie Shaves, who never attended the school, has joined as a lunchtime supervisor assistant.

On the changes she has witnessed at the school, Mrs Wright said: “When I first came here the children had to walk down to the village hall to have their lunch whether it rained, hailed, snowed or blowed.”
