Six men from Suffolk, including a currently suspended school employee, have been arrested on suspicion of distributing indecent images of children.
A National Crime Agency (NCA) operation, run in partnership with six police forces including Suffolk and Norfolk, saw 29 warrants executed across country between October 18 and October 24.
A 48-year-old man from Stowmarket, a 41-year-old man from Haverhill, a 31-year-old man from Hadleigh, a 39-year-old man from Ipswich, and two men aged 43 and 61 from the Beccles area have been arrested and released on police bail until early next year.
A total of 24 people were arrested in the six-day operation across the country.
Andy Baker, Deputy Director of the NCA’s Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre, said: “The possession of indecent images of children is a form of child sexual exploitation that requires no direct interaction with the victim, but causes considerable harm to those who are depicted.
“The National Crime Agency will work tirelessly with partners, both within the UK and overseas, to ensure those who pose a risk to children are identified and where a crime has been committed, are held accountable for their actions.”
