A NAIL salon has designs on a top award after being nominated as one of the best in the country.
Customers at Finishing Touches, in Well Street, Thetford, have made sure it is up against four others for Scratch magazine’s Salon of the Year.
Staff at the shop will now be going to a glitzy award ceremony at the Café de Paris in London on May 20.
Heidi Godden, owner, said customers had responded to the shop’s ‘fantastic atmosphere’.
“We’ve tried to make it a little bit of luxury for Thetford here. We have a good time and a good chat with everybody and get all the new products in.
“We have everyone from teenagers to people in their 80s come in and they all enjoy coming in and putting the world to rights,” she said.
Heidi added that their attention to new products had been key to attracting new customers.
Customers had to vote online and through the magazine, with nominations being whittled down to a final five.
The salon still has to jump through some hoops before it can get its hands on the prize though.
Heidi will be interviewed by the judges and she plans to submit a DVD showing off the salon’s approach.
