SUFFOLK County Council is to decide the salary for its new chief executive on Wednesday.
Councillors on the authority’s staff appointments committee are being recommended to slash the current pay scale of £157,788-£225,390 to a rate of up to £160,000.
The move will pave the way for a recruitment campaign to find a permanent replacement for previous incumbent Andrea Hill.
It is also recommended that the salary would not be part of an incremental scale and there would be no element of performance related pay.
The salary for the interim chief executive Lucy Robinson, who is paid £150,000 pro rata, will not be affected by the committee’s decision.
