BOLLARDS will go up on the bend where a serious road accident took place last month after a petition was handed to St Edmundsbury Borough Council.
Council engineer Steve Boor told the Bury area working party on Tuesday that the bollards will go up in King’s Road, Bury St Edmunds, before responsibility for highways transfers to Suffolk County Council on April 1. Further works will then be carried out by the county.
There was also good news for petitioners calling for traffic calming in Horsecroft Road with an £18,000 scheme approved. Ward member Cllr Stefan Oliver said large vehicles, no pavement and high banks, made it ‘terrifying’ for pedestrians.
