A young Suffolk woodturner has won a national prize at the Wizardry in Wood Competition in London.
Ryan Barker, 17, from Great Finborough, started wood turning just over two years ago using a converted bench grinder. But after burning it out, his late grandfather Bob Barker took him to buy him a new lathe.
Ryan later joined the Bury Woodturners Club and the Association of Woodturners of Great Britain and continued to hone his skills.
Last week Ryan won the junior plane turning prize at the national competition at Carpenter’s Hall.
