The owner of Flo-ridaz Hovercraft Experience is appealing for help in finding a suitable place to relocate his company.

Lee Sylvester has been operating his hovercraft business from a site at Rougham Airfield for the last five years.

But his lease is not going to be renewed when it expires this weekend and he is desperately searching for somewhere new to operate.

He said: “Unfortunately our time at Rougham Airfield is nearly up due to the relief road and other land being sold, and it is proving difficult to find or even see a suitable site for us to move to.”

“I could be in a muddle next week,” he added.

A suitable site would have to consist of reasonably flat grassland and be easily accessible, away from housing. It would also need to be a good size, about six or seven acres.

Lee, 47, of Badwell Ash, is keen to keep the business in the local area but says that currently the only landowner to have shown an interest is based in Norfolk.

He said: “I have grown up in the area and hope to keep the business in the Bury St Edmunds/Mid Suffolk area, with many of my customers going into town for the day.”

He is appealing for farmers and other landowners with a suitable plot to get in touch and said he would be willing to pay £2,000 per annum.
