ROBERT Gough turned the mundane into the magical for shoppers at Asda in Bury St Edmunds during a 24-hour fund-raising magic marathon.
Crowds watched the award-winning magician bend cutlery ‘with his mind’, perform impressive sleight of hand card and coin tricks and hypnotise, with one willing participant led to believe his hands were stuck to a table.
“He was amazing, I’ve never seen anything like it,” said 13-year-old Jack Camp, who was shopping with his father Mark and eight-year-old sister Maddie.
“I thought he was absolutely brilliant, really high quality,” said Mark. “You see a lot of charities collecting these days and he’s a great way to make this one stand out.”
The marathon event, which lasted from 11am on Friday to 11am on Saturday, raised a total of £213 for the West Suffolk Disability Resource Centre, which is in urgent need of renovation.
