More than 300 cyclists and walkers turned out for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices’ (EACH) longest running event, Ride for Life, on Sunday.

The event, now in its 23rd year, took place in Thetford Forest and raised more than £12,000 for the charity.

It featured different routes to suit all ages and abilities with three and six mile walks as well as on and off road bike rides from 10 to 50 miles and a new children’s treasure trail which kept families entertained for hours as they hunted in the forest for clues.

Carol Plunkett, EACH Norfolk fund-raising manager, said it was a great day.

“The weather mainly held off for us and we’ve had some really great feedback from everyone who took part. As usual for this event everyone is so positive about the rides and walks and there was a lovely atmosphere on the day.”

“I’d like to thank everyone involved in organising the event and of course everyone who came along on the day for raising these valuable funds,” she added.
