PEOPLE are gearing up for Red Nose day today and already several fund-raising events have taken place.

At Strada, in Bury St Edmunds, staff will be keeping mum for a whole day as they serve in silence.

Schools will be holding their own money raising events – Mildenhall College of Technology will be staging space hopper races while children at Howard Primary School will be holding a Monster Mash and dressing up as monsters.

There will be plenty of activities at the arc shopping centre in Bury, with staff at Waterstones dressing up and reading Gruffalo stories, the Costa team will be holding a Mad Hatter’s tea party and staff at Vera Moda, Shakeaway and Debenhams wearing something funny for money.

Meanwhile, at Donalds Garage, on Moreton Hall, last weekend people were taking part in bungee jumps while staff from Sainsbury’s took part in a sponsored walk from the Bury store to the newly opened store in Mildenhall.
