A recreation of Tudor life was among the events which helped a historic mansion raise £3,723 for a vital Bury St Edmunds charity.

Patrick and Judith Phillips, owners of Kentwell Hall, in Long Melford, handed over the cash collected over the past year to St Nicholas Hospice Care.

Various craft items, made on site, were sold to raise the money as well as activities during Kentwell’s Tudor and Victorian historical recreations. Mrs Phillips said: “We hold some events specifically to raise money wholly for the hospice.”
