This week’s poem, called Christmas Time, is by Carole Andrews.

Christmas is here, hip, hip, hip hooray

Jesus was born on Christmas Day

We celebrate it every year

The children love it, have no fear.

With presents under the Christmas tree

They love to sit on Santa’s knee

Telling him what they want this year

The lights shine bright with festive cheer.

Carol singing young and old

Singing for charity we are told

Collecting money for the poor

Knocking hard on every door.

Then at church on Christmas eve

We take communion as we believe

That we must thanks Lord Jesus Christ

For giving us a great new life.

’Cos he was born on Christmas Day

He came on Earth to show us the way

We celebrate it every year

I can’t believe that Christmas is here.

(Christmas is wonderful).
