Have your say

This week’s poem, by John Radford, is called I Am.

I am the writing on the wall,

I am the icing on the cake.

I have a new start for you all,

but there are decisions you must make.

You pretend you do not understand.

You won’t believe I am who I say I am.

You are scared in case I am for real.

Then I would know how bad you really feel.

How your world now is a rotten place.

Your way out is by getting off your face.

All that just does is blot it out.

Your head is so deep in sand you can’t hear my shout.

But I hear your cry and see your pain.

I see your life slowly trickle down the drain.

I am that exit door you need,

I have so much just for you.

I am the way you can be freed,

just hold my hand and I will see you through.

I am that writing on your wall,

I am that icing on your cake.

This new start it is your call,

so this decision is yours to take.

I am the writing on the wall,

I am the icing on the cake.

I have a new start for you all,

but there are decisions you must make.
