Have your say

This week’s poems are by Paula Sunshine and Gillian Fisher.

POSITIVELY THINKING!

Are you positively thinking?

Is your mind as right as rain?

Are your energies a force for good

or bad, inside your brain?

Do you see the sunny side of life

and pick up every penny,

so that all the day you’ll have good luck,

whilst others haven’t any?

Are your ponderings constructive?

Toss them in the bin if not,

lest they agitate your brain waves,

causing all good thoughts to rot.

Stick to positively thinking

and I’m sure that you’ll agree,

every mood will change from hopelessness

to POSITIVITY!

PAULA SUNSHINE

RAIDING THE SKIP

Things in the skip a tad further along the road, often change ownership.

There might be items that folk can prolong the useful life of; it’s upcycling brinkmanship.

Ugly ornaments get left behind, of course – never mind where they were bought, in the first place.

Transient fascination fades, without remorse. Leaky teapots are sentenced to the skip’s disgrace.

Being seen scavenging’s part of the thrill. ‘Gone after somethin’ for nothin’, that’s cheapskate!’

Hope that’s not where toys to fill the kids’ stockings orginate.
