FUND-RAISERS have danced the night away in memory of a much-loved husband and father.
Family and friends of Ray Morley - who was from Lakenheath and died in 2009 from bowel cancer - put on a charity disco in his memory earlier this month.
The second annual disco at Lakenheath Royal British Legion raised £800 for St Nicholas Hospice Care, who cared for Mr Morley before his death.
His widow, Jeannie Morley, said: “You don’t realise what the Hospice does until you need it. On top of spending time there he was cared for by the Community Hospice Team.”
A barbecue and raffle were held alongside the disco, while the sale of 100 homemade cup cakes made sure the coffers swelled.
Mrs Morley is now planning to run the London half-marathon on September 25 to raise even more cash for the hospice.
