A RADIOGRAPHER has pedalled up more than £1,200 for a hospital where she is receiving treatment for cancer.

Lisa Nugent, who works at West Suffolk Hospital, in Bury St Edmunds, amassed the money after organising Sunday’s 24.1 mile cycle ride from Nowton Park to her home village of Great Yeldham

It will go to the Mary Barron Suite at Essex County Hospital, in Colchester, where she has been treated for breast cancer.

The ride attracted more than 30 cyclists, including colleagues, and was such a success that a second one could be held next year.

Mrs Nugent, 41, said: “It was fabulous. Everyone had a fantastic time. I’m overwhelmed by the donations.”

She praised the Mary Barron Suite for its level of care and the nurses who were always on hand to offer support.
