AN AWARD winning village pub has done it again, after being crowned Camra’s Suffolk Pub of the Year for 2011.

The Fox and Hounds, in Thurston, is no stranger to prestigious titles, having won Camra’s West Suffolk Pub of the Year in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2011, going on to win Camra’s Suffolk Pub of the Year in 2009 and 2011.

Now landlords Mandy and Bernie Ruffles are hoping to win a new award, Regional Pub of the Year, which will be announced in mid September.

Mandy said: “We’re absolutely thrilled, we didn’t think we’d be able to do it again so it’s really good news, good for us, good for the pub and good for the community.”

Camra chairman Kevin Waterson said: “It’s a massive accolade, it’s something that’s treasured. Next year it will go into the Good Beer Guide so people will come from all over the country, it’ll propel their business.”
