Pupils at Walsham-le-Willows Primary School helped raise £420 for a vital children’s charity in memory of a dedicated nursery worker.

They collected the cash in dinosaur money boxes for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices in tribute to Jane Jackaman, who worked at Little Mice Nursery in Stowmarket and died aged 48 in May after suffering from cancer.

Her friend of 30 years Dawn Goodwin, who is a childminder, organised the fund-raiser and provided the money boxes, which the children were allowed to keep.

On Friday, she organised a dinosaur themed tea party for pupils.

Mrs Goodwin said: “Jane was so dedicated to children. It’s why I wanted to get them involved and she would have wanted me to do this for the hospice.”
