Pupils across West Suffolk have been treading the boards in traditional and novel interpretations of the Christmas story.
Thirty nine children in Reception classes at Ickworth Park Primary School, in Horringer, impressed audiences with their colourful nativity, which was an Out of the Ark production.
They gave a dress rehearsal for the whole school followed by two performances for parents.
Clare Hunt, reception teacher, said: “Everyone loved it. There were some lovely songs, dancing and they played instruments.
“They did really well and I was very proud of them all.”
Cherry Trees Preparatory and Montessori School, in Risby, performed a fresh take on the Christmas story with ‘We Three Kings’.
The show, which followed the story of the kings as they travel to visit the baby Jesus, involved the Grasshoppers (Reception) and Barn Owls (Year 1) classes.
Carole Beedham, head of school, said: “Even though this production was performed by some of our very youngest children, they showed the confidence of seasoned performers.
“They sang beautifully and spoke clearly to all their proud parents and teachers.”
Pupils at Great Heath Academy, in Mildenhall, also got in the nativity spirit.
