REFURBISHMENTS of a historic town centre pub have been delayed.
Enterprise Inns, owners of The Flintknappers in Market Hill, Brandon, has confirmed that the pub will now reopen in November.
The pub giants had announced at the end of July that work to revamp the building were on course to be completed before the end of September.
But after metal shutters were placed over the pub’s windows last month, a spokeswoman for Enterprise Inns said the pub will ‘definitely open before Christmas’.
There has been speculation over the pub’s future since it was boarded up in late March, with a for sale sign being put up at one point.
Enterprise Inns were unable to confirm any details of the refurbishment.
The delay comes after the closure of the Duke of Wellington in Thetford Road and delays to planned work on The Five Bells in Market Hill.
