A PUB has raked in more than £4,000 for a children’s charity from a wealth of fund-raising events.

Customers and staff at the Tollgate Inn, in Fornham Road, Bury St Edmunds, donated the money to East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (Each).

The £4,050 was amassed during activities over bank holiday weekends last year including a dog show, music festival and family fun days.

Other organisations which benefited from the events were the East Anglian Air Ambulance with £1,000 and £155 for Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.

Landlady Angela Poulton said: “We did fund-raising the year before and made £500 less so the idea is growing. We have some very generous people.

“The regular customers and people who help me organise also help me to come up with the charity we mainly donate to.”
