Prize-winning pianist Alexander Karpeyev has stepped in to perform at this year’s Bury St Edmunds Festival after a broken ankle forced Jayson Gillham to pull out.
Alexander Katpeyev will perform an exciting programme of piano pieces by Bach/Busoni, Brahms, Medtner and Rubenstein at the Apex on May 18.
Festival Manager, Nick Wells, said: “I am sorry Jayson Gillham will not be able to perform in the Festival having broken his ankle, however we have lined up another young pianist, who also has a very bright future. We are extremely grateful to Alexander Karpeyev for stepping in at such short notice and looking forward to an exciting programme.”
Tickets to the Coffee Concert, which will begin at 11am remain valid.
This year’s festival will run from May 16-19, for the full line-up visit www.buryfestival.co.uk.
