A serving Highpoint prisoner is accused of wounding a fellow prisoner with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Paul Jones, 34, is alleged to have carried out the attack at the Stradishall prison on December 4 last year.

At Bury St Edmunds Magistrates’ Court last Thursday, his solicitor Tim Scarisbrick told magistrates he denied the charge.

Jones was given unconditional bail and is due to attend Ipswich Crown Court on February 5.
