POSTMEN showcased their detective skills after delivering a Christmas card which was addressed to ‘a road somewhere near a golf course’.

They managed to get the card to Trevor and Annette Burlingham, in Thetford, despite the vague directions ‘Mr and Mrs Burlingham? A road somewhere near the golf course in Thetford, Norfolk’.

It continued ‘Trevor is a photographer (weddings this might help)’.

Mr Burlingham, of Redcastle Road, who works as a photographer under the name Trevor Howard, has praised the postal service for the delivery.

He said: “Royal Mail did a remarkable job to get it to us.

“I was very surprised given the description.

“We’ve lived here for three years and I work under a different name so the postmen won’t know us that well.”

The card was from family acquaintances Rosemary and Tony Edwards, of Norwich.

Mrs Edwards was a bridesmaid at Mr Burlingham’s late mother Ivy’s first wedding.
