FOURTEEN fresh-faced leaders of the future will be having their say as part of Breckland Youth Council.
Whittled down from 46 applicants, the group were picked after two days of interviewing and a vote from the present youth council.
Aged from 11 to 18, the youth council will have the chance to attend full council meetings and present their views.
Sophie Malby, 11, said she would be fighting for more youth clubs and activities for young people in the area.
“I’m really excited and the whole process has inspired me to apply for my school council,” she said.
Cllr Lynda Turner said the Youth Council gives young people a ‘direct voice’.
“We hope to encourage the district’s youth to take on leadership roles today and offer them the necessary skills and encouragement to take an active role in democracy for the rest of their lives,” she said.
