Police in Bury St Edmunds are appealing for information after thefts from a number of vehicles over the weekend.

In Finsbury Place between 6pm on Friday and 9.30am Saturday a Rav4, a Ford Focus, a Lexus and a Peugeot were all entered and two sat navs were stolen along with a small amount of cash.

In Whiting Street, between 5.30pm Friday and 12.45pm Saturday, a Lexus was entered and CDs and cash were taken.

An insecure Audi A3 was entered in Mill Road over Friday - Saturday night and six CD cases and two lighters were stolen.

If you have any information about these thefts contact Suffolk Police on 101 quoting reference BU/15/1950.

Police urge people not to leave valuable in cars, even small change for car parks.

A spokesman said: “A few pounds may not seem worth breaking into a car for, but if you can get £2 to £3 from 10 cars, it becomes more worthwhile if you need cash.

“Whilst you may know that there is nothing valuable in the sports bag, jacket or shopping bags, the thief won’t and may chance breaking the window to get in and check.”
