Suffolk’s Police Chief visited Stowmarket yesterday to speak to residents about the issues facing their town.
Chief Constable Douglas Paxton set up a mobile police station in the marketplace from 10am to 2pm to meet local people and discuss their concerns.
Following the event Mr Paxton said: “We had a very busy day in Stowmarket today which was fantastic. “Lots of people took the opportunity to talk to me and it was good to be able to understand what the issues are that are affecting the local community.
“We heard some very positive feedback about our officers today and also listened to people’s concerns over such issues such as speeding and illgal parking int the town which we were able to give advice on.
“I was joined by officers from the local SNT, who gave practical examples of how we are responding to these areas and what we will do to further tackle these problems.”
The Police Chief’s next stop is Bury St Edmunds on September 12.
