The Chief Constable of Suffolk Police met with residents in Stowmarket to hear their concerns about issues such as speeding and illegal parking.

Douglas Paxton hosted a Chief on Tour event to meet the community with officers from the local Safer Neighbourhood Team as well as members of the Community Safety Team and Suffolk Safekey.

He said: “We had a very busy day. Lots of people took the opportunity to talk to me and it was good to be able to understand what the issues are. We heard some positive feedback about our officers and also listened to people’s concerns over issues such as speeding and illegal parking in the town which we were able to give advice on.”

His next Chief on Tour event will be held at the arc shopping centre, in Bury St Edmunds, on Thursday September 12 from 9am to 4pm.
