Police appeal for witnesses after man is charged with possession of firearm in Brandon

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a man was arrested and charged for possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear and common assault in Brandon.

Daniel Mitson, 20, of Astor Court, Brandon, appeared before Bury St Edmunds Magistrates yesterday facing a additional charge of criminal damage.

Police were called to reports of an altercation between a man and a woman in High Street, Brandon, at around 8pm on Sunday April 6.

It is understood that there were around 15 to 20 people in the street at that time and police are keen to identify and speak to those people.

Mitson’s criminal damage charge refers to an incident in High Street, Brandon, which happened between 11pm and 11.40pm on Friday April 4 where a business premises’ window was broken.

Police are keen to track down two men who assisted a woman at the scene.
