YOUNGSTERS can now enjoy playing on new swings and slides which have been installed in the Abbey Gardens play area in Bury St Edmunds.
Part of the play area reopened yesterday, while the final pieces of equipment including a treehouse, rope walks, sand and water play equipment and a canopied area, are all to be installed at the end of the month.
Damien Parker, parks manager for St Edmundsbury Borough Council, said: “The play area is being transformed into an exciting and attractive new space for toddlers to teens. We have finished installing most of the equipment. We hope to have the whole area open around mid June, so it’s going to be a brilliant play area during the summer holidays.”
