Plans for chicken restaurant

A POPULAR restaurant chain, which specialises in chicken dishes, is hoping to move to an empty unit in a busy shopping development in Bury St Edmunds.

Nando’s Chickenland Ltd is seeking planning permission for the unit between Paperchase and Carluccio’s in the arc, which has remained unoccupied since the centre opened.

Plans submitted to St Edmundsbury Borough Council have requested permission to make alterations to the building’s western facade and to the shop front, as well as to install advertisements, and would provide access to and from an external seating area.

The consultation period for the application officially closes on Tuesday, but the council can hear representations made after that deadline.
