We reported on Friday July 19 1991, that Barrow playing fields were packed when villagers enjoyed its annual fete.
Fete-goers enjoyed the five-a-side football tournament, freefall parachute display and many stalls which included Knock the Lady Out of Bed.
Les Hopton, chairman of the organising committee, said he had never seen so many people at the fete, which was in its fifth year.
Miss Bury Free Press Dawn Elvin also popped along and the fete was opened by ‘Allo ‘Allo star Sue Hodge.
Mr Hopton said he hoped more than last year’s total of £2,400 would be raised to go towards the village hall.
The festival ended with a Hoe Down dance in the village hall.
