Pictures from the past

Nostalgia for Laura.
Nostalgia for Laura.
Have your say

Reader Ron Prewer brought in this week’s photograph, which was taken on a Bury St Edmunds pub family outing in around 1963.

It shows Mr Prewer’s late mother-in-law, Margaret Moye, pushing Tom Reach, the former landlord of The Dove pub, in a pushchair which belonged to pub regular Doreen Curry.

Mr Prewer, 76, of Bury, said Mr Reach was an excellent landlord, ‘one of the best there was’.

The picture was taken after the bus had pulled into a lay-by to allow those on board to enjoy a few drinks, as Mr prewer said often happened.

Do you remember Mrs Moye and Mr Reach? They were well known in Bury.

Perhaps you have a photograph that you would like to see on this page - either personal, from a business perspective or from a sporting triumph.

You can email your pictures to reporter Laura Smith at or send them to Laura at the Bury Free Press.

You can also bring them in to our reception in King’s Road.
