This week’s photograph was sent in by reader Michael Miller.
It was given to him by his great grandfather Harry Miller, who wrote the following notes on the back.
“This photo is of the decorated engine celebrating the coronation of King George V in 1911. This engine operated from Bury St Edmunds station and was crewed by your great grandfather, Harry (standing on the rails) and Bob Abraham.”
Mr Miller, 49, of Barrow, said he had taken an interest in his family’s ancestry of late and had traced them back to 1796.
He said they all lived in Church Row, Bury.
Harry’s father Robert Miller apparently had a pub in Bury called The Ship Inn, which used to be located in Eastgate Street.
