A PLAYGROUP is celebrating after moving into its new home in time for its 40th anniversary.
Gislingham Playgroup has been operating out of the village hall for 39 years, but on Saturday, the group’s new purpose-built home was officially opened.
Suffolk county councillor Charles Michell and Peppa Pig opened the new building, in Broadfield Road, next door to Gislingham CEVC Primary School, on Saturday.
The playgroup, which caters to 29 children, moved into the new building last month.
Phillipa Read, from Gislingham Playgroup, said: “It’s brilliant – it’s nice that the children don’t have to keep putting their toys away and we can now open in afternoons as well.
“It’s so nice to have what they can call a home.”
