SOME experiences of a lifetime are up for grabs in a massive online auction which will raise money for the Bobby Robson Foundation and Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

The auction, which will be live from October 8 to 23, has already attracted a host of lots from top names in the sporting world and is expected to attract national and international bids.

The auction, together with a ball being staged at The Apex on October 20, is aiming to raise £250,000 for both charities in memory of footballing legend Sir Bobby Robson and Sally Balch, a founding member of the Breakthrough Suffolk group.

Chris Askew, chief executive of Breakthrough Breast Cancer, said: “Sir Bobby Robson and Sally Balch were two inspirational people and the memory of both has driven this remarkable fund-raising effort.”

Among the lots on offer are two tickets to the PFA awards ceremony next April with overnight accommodation and breakfast at the Grosvenor House Hotel. Another is for two people to be guests of Fabio Capello at an England team training session ahead of the England home international in February.

There is also a chance to enjoy a football experience closer to home at Ipswich Town. Two bidders will be able to take a home and away team to train and play in a football match on the main ITFC pitch with a training session from a former Sir Bobby Robson player who will be their team manager.

There is golfing at Woburn for four and tickets for two to the final of the Masters snooker at Alexandra Palace on January 22. Sir Michael Stoute is hosting an early morning on Newmarket Heath followed by breakfast at his home and there is a chance to line up at a partridge and pheasant shoot at Hall Farm, Bury St Edmunds, donated by Andrew Long.

A rare limited edition autobiography of Pele signed by the legend and one of only 2,500 published is also on offer, alongside luxury breaks – a week in the Bahamas, an overnight stay at Maison Talbooth incuding dinner, a three night stay at a top London hotel with spa treatments and a weekend for two at the Brudenell Hotel in Aldeburgh.

Or perhaps centre court tickets for Wimbledon next year are more your thing, or entry to the Badminton Horse Trials, a Champagne capsule on the London Eye, a driving experience at Silverstone or the chance to learm to drive a combine harvester.

If you would like to add a prize to the auction which is organised by Lacy Scott & Knight you have until September 20. All the prizes are on the auction website at www.sirbobbys breakthroughauction.com
