TWO daredevils from Stowmarket are flying high after soaring their way to £1,000 for Guide Dogs charity.

Michelle Bridges and Andrew Farren, who both work in Specsavers, raised the money by jumping out of a plane, above Beccles, last Friday.

Michelle, 23, from Stowupland, and Andrew, 26, from Stowmarket, organised the skydive after meeting local celebrity guide dogs Edward and Opal.

The dogs belong to Graham Waspe, from Stowmarket, who is blind and got Opal after his first guide dog Edward lost his eyesight and had to retire.

Michelle and Andrew hope to raise enough money to sponsor a new guide dog puppy and would like to call it Edward.

The pair are aiming to raise £5,000 to name the puppy and would then like to concentrate on raising money to sponsor another puppy, which they want to name Opal.

Michelle said: “The skydive was amazing, we have never done anything like that before and we have always wanted to do it. It was the best feeling in the world.”
