Have your say

The votes have been counted and councillors new and old have been declared for Suffolk and Norfolk.

The 2013 campaign was a very interesting one indeed with lively debate on all fronts. In the run-up to the elections, too, there was a lot of activity as hopefuls sought to push their names into the public psyche – more than I remember in even General Elections.

But the time for banter and publicity is over.

Norfolk and Suffolk have stiff challenges ahead and the winners need to get their heads down, work through the issues and ensure the people who voted them in get a fair deal locally.

We’re a long way from Ipswich and Norwich and councillors need to be really on their game to win a decent slice of the funding cake for the west of the county – and be clear and robust in airing our concerns at County Hall.

Well done to all those councillors elected – now’s the time for you to deliver.
