Report after report tells us what we already knew - business is thriving in Bury St Edmunds and the broader West Suffolk community and it really is something to shout about.
That’s why we are once again lauding the very best in local business in 2014 with the Bury Free Press Business Awards.
They launch today with warm words of encouragement from Suffolk chamber boss John Dugmore and bosses from the inaugural Business of the Year winners, Sicon.
Our awards are now in their third year and go from strength to strength. They launched at a time when the UK was still firmly in the grip of recession. Slowly and thanks in no small part to the efforts of staff, business owners and entrepreneurs, together with the decision makers and our business champions, the corner is being turned.
The future appears rosy for those who have ridden out the ravages of one of the worst recessions in recent history and our awards will celebrate the very best these business men and women have achieved.
I urge you all to enter our 2014 awards - and good luck!
