Bury St Edmunds shoppers saw more than they had bargained for earlier this month when the town’s latest calendar girls bared all around the town.
Members and friends from the Bury Operatic Society (BSEAODS), which will be performing Calendar Girls at the Theatre Royal from August 20-24, stripped off to reveal all in well-known tourist hotspots around the town.
These included the Abbey Gardens, The Angel Hotel, the Theatre Royal, The Nutshell, Really Rather Good tea-rooms and Bury market.
Win Unwin’s wool stall, Terry Unwin’s plant and flower stall and Jimmy’s fruit and veg stall all took part.
Society chairman Debbie Croll said: “The photo-shoot was tremendous fun. All our ladies bravely stripped off for charity and we found that, once they had all posed naked for the Tai Chi shot in the Abbey Gardens, any nerves were soon forgotten.”
The calendar, photographed by Suzy Abbott from Abbott Photography, is to be sold in aid of St Nicholas Hospice Care.
Priced at £7.50, it will go on sale at Waitrose, in Bury, from August.
