An exotic flavour peppers this year’s panto at Great Whelnetham which features a sultan from Morocco and a Parisian puss cat.

The much-loved tale of Dick Whittington who travels to London to seek his fortune through a series of adventures overseas is being performed over three days between December 8 and 10.

Written by Limelight Scripts it is directed and choreographed by Jo Cotton and is the Great Whelnetham Players’ third pantomime. With three evening performances and a matinee the show at the village community centre aims to wow its audiences.

Mick Walls as Puss in Boots brings a french flavour to the part while Jack Payne takes on his first role with the players as Dick. Meanwhile Neil Pettitt aimes to create plenty of knockabout humour as Dame Sarah.

Jo said: “We’ve been growing and developing each year and this year we include an underwater scene and some special magic effects which we hope everyone will enjoy.”

Tickets are £8 adults, £6 concessions and children (4-15). Children three and under on the knee are free. Tickets can be obtained online at Tickets here or by calling 0333 666 3366.

Performances start at 7.30pm and 2.30pm for the Saturday matinee.
