THE Olympic torch is coming to Bury St Edmunds.
The announcement this morning of the towns and villages the torch will pass through in Suffolk shows it re-enters the county on Saturday July 7 from Essex.
It will pass through Haverhill and Bury before moving on to Newmarket and then to Cambridge.
Two days earlier the torch travels into the east of the county as it passes from Norwich to Ipswich.
St Edmundsbury Borough Council leader Cllr John Griffiths said: “The news that the Olympic torch is coming to Bury St Edmunds will delight the people of the borough who have embraced the Olympic vision wholeheartedly.”
Bury is hosting the Rwandan Olympic and Paralympic teams for the Games.
