A 10-YEAR-OLD boy is to make a splash in shoe shops across the country after designing his own wellies.
Oliver Gamez, of Bury St Edmunds, won a national design competition with Priceless Shoes by creating a dinosaur-themed pair of boots.
The wellies will be available first in Priceless, in Butter Market, Bury, and then in stores across the country.
As well as a pair of the boots, the St Louis Middle School pupil won vouchers for a year’s supply of shoes at Priceless.
He entered the competition after spotting an advertisement in the shop and decided to use his enthusiasm for dinosaurs for inspiration.
Oliver said: “I drew a T-Rex and I was really pleased when I found out that I had won.”
His mum Annie added: “I couldn’t believe it when we were told.
“It’s lovely as it’s for something useful. I said to him that it would be nice to do something that young kids would like and he’s a bit mad on dinosaurs.
“It’s fun entering competitions and it was something to do in the half term.”
