This weekend one village will filled with strange straw creatures from Spiderman and Charlie Chaplin to the fearsome Gruffalo.
The Barton Mills Scarecrow Festival is back and as well as scarecrows there will be a host of entertainment.
Co-ordinator Francis Lewis said: “The festival is about having fun. It opens on Saturday and Sunday between 10am and 5pm.
“People can walk around the village and see the strange characters that have appeared in people’s gardens.”
The famous and fearsome Gruffalo will be lurking in the Manor along with a display of classic cars and cream teas over the weekend.
From midday to 4pm each day a pedal kart time trial will be held in The Street.
From 6.30pm-10pm on Saturday there will be a family music night and BBQ on the playing field featuring local band Funk Collective.
Entry to the evening entertainment is free with a collection for the East Anglian Air Abulance.
On 2pm on Sunday will be a fun dog show on the playing ield followed at 5.30pm by a Songs of Praise.
The Scarecrow Festival is organised by the Barton Mills Church Preservation Trust to raise funds for the maintenance of the church building.
